Ọníléoríta

Let us pray

Let us open our hands and hearts
Let us connect our invisible umbilical cords

Back to the source that birth our beings
Let us latch on to the genesis of our  walk

Let us pray

Not for ourselves
No, not for our children

Not even our fathers
Nor our mothers

Not for the man sleeping by your side
Not for that beggar constantly at the hem of your gown

Let us pray

For the first son of man
Not from Eden but of its birth place

For the first and most notorious offender of all times
For the being that brought us to this point

For the first soul that crushed another soul
For the servant that made us all debtors to death

Shall we all pray

For that one soul that is referred to as a "he"
Yet genderless and in everyone

Let us pray for the god of deception and confusion
Let us pray for Ọníléoríta

Shall we pray for Èsú
